Honors Biology is NOT a class for the faint of heart or the lazy. This is a challenging class that will motivate you to think beyond the textbook. Don't be afraid of the challenge, the class structure creates an environment to fuel success. Tools for Success:
Don't be afraid to ask questions. No one enjoys being lost or confused. Instead of sitting at your desk staring at the floor, please oh pretty please, JUST ASK A QUESTION!!
Look at your notes. Filling in notes is not a form of torture. Notes serve a purpose! The notes I provide in class contain all of the information you need to be successful on exams, quizzes, assignments, and LIFE! If you are stuck on a question in an assignment, please look through your notes first. Chances are the information in your notes will help you answer the question.
Cheating is NOT Collaboration. Working together with classmates is a useful tool to help expand your knowledge. It is scientifically proven that no knowledge can be gained by copying your friend's work. Copying your friend's work might give you a good score on your assignment, but it will not help you on your exams. *Heads up... I make multiple copies of exams and randomly distribute the exams to the class so if you cheat off of your friend's exam I will not only know you cheated, but you will also receive zero points.
Simply Try. Class is structured to provide you with the time and materials to complete your assignments and strengthen your understanding. I will go above and beyond to help you become successful in Honors Biology, but I cannot do the work for you in class. You must use your time wisely and focus. You cannot expect to pass the exams, the class, and the Keystone Exams if you spend class time snap chatting, tweeting, instagramming, etc.
